Not too sure the Santa Fe has quality problem or just me bad luck. My 2008 Santa Fe has problem again. It just break down while driving, luckily not in the highway. "seat belt & battery" warning signal flashing intermittently then go to solid. Later engine stop before the stop sign.
I've replaced the battery and can drive back home. My friend told me the voltage between the battery should read at least 14VDC with engine running. Mine only 12V (engine running). I suspect the alternator fails charging and need to be replaced. Can someone tell me that the alternator need to be replaced? If so can it be DIY?
