2004 Sante Fe difficult start after passing inspection

My car passed inspection on Wednesday 6/12. On Thursday (6/13) while on my way home from work the check engine light comes. So instead of going home I head back to the shop. After testing he said it came up as an “evap code”. He said he reset he reset it and that if the light came back on they will look into it more when I was scheduled to go back on Monday 6/17 to get the axel replaced. When I get back in to the car I notice the cover to the fuse box on the driver side floor. I put the cover back on and think nothing of it. On Friday (6/14) morning when leaving for work, the car would not turn over like it usually does when turning the key. After a few pumps of the gas and turns of the key it started. However I noticed that my climate controls were reset to Celsius, as if the power had been removed from to the battery. My clock and radio stations were all ok though.
A few hours later during work I have the same issue getting it start, and the same thing when I went to the movies later that night. Saturday morning (6/15) I go to move the car to cut the grass and the same starting issue happens, and a few hours later when I go to put the car back in the driveway. Each time the temperature controls reset as if the power was removed from the battery, but the clock and the radio presets are all fine.
Sunday morning is the same as the last 3. Obviously there will be no more work done on the car by them until they fix this, but does anyone have any ideas of what they should be looking for? Car passes after brake and rotors were replaced on Wednesday. Then all the issues started after taking it in on Thursday for check engine light.
