I have a 2002 Hyundai Sonata 4 cyl. 136k miles. When in 1st gear or reverse at or very near a stop, the engine frequently idles rough with rpm's jumping down from 800 (normal) to 600 and back to 800 very quickly. It seems it does these rpm fluctuations after the engine is warmed up, and is more noticeable during stop and go driving. There is no check engine light, I have had the idle control valve and timing belt replaced within last 40k miles, and I replaced the air filter and put in different brand fuel with some fuel injection cleaner (in case there was water in fuel tank). But the condition still exists. The car hasn't stalled yet, but it's been doing this for just a couple of weeks now and am afraid it will get worse. Before I take it to a mechanic, any thoughts what this might be? And if it's self-fixable for a layperson? Thanks
