I have just came back from a dealership in the NW suburbs of Chicago where they did oil change on my 2013 Sonata GLS with ~5900 miles. After they brought the car from the shop onto the parking lot (150 ft) I decided to check oil level. It was fine but oil was dark, I think it was as dark as when I checked it 3 weeks ago. I did my previous oil change ~3 months ago / ~2K miles ago and they used non synthetic oil. Right there I talked to mechanic at the dealership and showed him the oil, he said this is normal for this engine it should be dark. I clearly explained that it was changed 10 minutes ago and he repeated it was normal for oil to be that dark. I am concerned because oil in my 2010 Sonata GLS 4 cyl after 2K miles from last change is less dark than in my 2013 Sonata right after oil change. What color should oil have right after oil change in YF Sonata? I am thinking of doing another oil change next weekend (at a different dealer) and send sample of what I currently have to blackstone. I will probably not do more than 180 miles in a week. Am I paranoid or something is wrong here?
