Not an ordinary case, but I've had 3 different Hyundai cars for last 6 months.
I bought a 2013 Elantra Coupe in March, traded in for 2013 Veloster Turbo in June, then traded in for 2013 Santa Fe Sports in August, They were all top trims.
Elantra Coupe and Veloster Turbo were made in Korea, and SFS was made in USA.
I kinda have this obsession about the details, maybe beacuse I'm working as an QA analyst; and small defects always drive me nuts. lol
and I'd say, the first two cars were very satisfying in terms of details inside and outside of the cars.
Had tiny issues, but they were all soved at the dealership in less than 15 mins.
For SFS, I must say I'm somewhat disappointed.
Due to stupid pricing policy in Canada, I paid almost $45,000 for my SFS Limited trim, but the details are nowhere near perfect in SFS.
They are mostly things I can try to ignore or live with, but I expected more from a car that costs a lot more than the previous two cars.
There were tiny scratches on the spoiler, plastic inside the head lamp unit was broken, seats were making noise, sunroof was creaking on the uneven roads, some interior parts were not put together properly, etc etc.
Yes this could be just a lemon, but those should have been found if proper QC was done.
From my experience.. I think Hyundai cars made in Korea have better QC level than ones made in USA.
I'm picking up my SFS from Hyundai service centre tomorrow after having them fix some problems for last 3 days.
I hope I won't need to make another trip to fix more problems afterwards :(
