Unknown buttons on both front seat cushions

I recently bought a 2010 Elantra GLS from CarMax. I didn't notice until a week later that there is a toggle switch on the outside front of each front seat, on the lower seating cushion. I've attached a photo. I've searched the manual to no avail. I have no idea what these buttons do. I first thought they may be controls for seat warmers, but the manual says those buttons are located on the dash on either side of the emergency flasher button. I have no buttons there at all.

Does anyone have any idea what these buttons are for? Where I am it's so hot these days if they are seat warmer controls I wouldn't be able to notice any difference if they are turned on so testing for that function is worthless.
