Loose Axle Bolts

I was experiencing a "clicking" sound on the left front wheel that happened under load when letting off or on the accelerator. I posted in another thread and someone mentioned that there was a TSB about needing to add shims between the axle and CV joint. Apparently, that was for the 2011 models and mine had the correct parts and that was not the problem.

They found that one of the bolts/nuts that attach the axle to the transaxle was loose and this was enough to allow some "slop" in the assembly. My service manager said that they could literally see the wheel and axle shimmy under load because of it. So they tightened everything down (both sides btw) and it's back to normal.

The Service Manager, Eric, said this was the first time they had seen this. Their first thought was the TSB shims but when they saw that mine had the correct parts, they started looking elsewhere.

I want to tip my hat to Eric and the guys at King Hyundai in Deerfield Beach Florida. I dropped the car off around 1:30 today and it was ready before 4:00, on a Saturday no less! And they washed it for me! :)
