I have 2001 Tibiruon SE Manual 5 speed with alarm system that was installed in the last year.
Before going into the city, I had filled up half a tank of gas and put 1/3 Seafoam in my tank. (yes I know im an idiot, but help me figure this out still).
I was driving on a decently hot day in Canada, and then the car stalled. About 60km into the trip, engine temp at middle 90c, coming off the highway and driving into downtown Vancouver, I thought I had let my foot come off the clutch because what I experienced was exactly just like that. Except it felt like I had no brakes.
I was able to turn the car on and just thought I must have let go of the clutch. But then it happened again. I was then worried, but got it start again, but then it shut off within 15 seconds compared to 1 minute the last time I got it started.
I pulled the car over, the engine seem really warm higher than what the coolant should be reading, but I it turns over, almost sounds like its going to go but then it just doesn't. I got it towed to another mall and had a friend look. He thought fuel filter. I thought maybe its clogged too.
I towed it to a garage who wanted over 500$ to diagnosis the problem and on top of the 100$ they had already charged me. They were aware I was over 90km from home, but after hearing this I had a mechanic friend, I towed the car back to my city.
The diagnosis the garage did do, came up with the following :
The Engine Compression is good
Oil is new
Spark Plugs are brand new ( I installed the oil/spark/coolant)
Battery is about 1 month old
They said theres no fuel or spark. but the engine compression is good.
My mechanic friend is also stumped. Im not sure what the **** it is.
However the internet is a friendly place and being in the tech industry, best place you check stuff like this is with owners of the similar vechile and who know better than you, so please help.
The car has 93,000km on. Driven well. I have not changed the fuel filter yet.
I have confirmed there is no spark with my mechanic friend connected a wire to the metal and we looked for a spark. nada
One thing I did notice, was that, I didn't see my accessory lights come on today when I tried (you know when you make the turn from aux to ON, you get a bunch of symbols, I don't see that coming up, although I did take out a fuse, I will get back to you on that and see if changing the fuse its back.
