I have a 2004 Sonata with 189000 miles on it now.
No problems except newer minor electrical problems.
1) Started with low beam lights burning out after a few months, replace about 10 bulbs, then they stopped buring out.
2) The cruise control slowly stopped working, and now the fan adjustment knob has to be adjusted just right inbetween settings to work. These I'm attributing to age and wear.
3) The big problem now is my lights and door locks and wonder if they are connected. I rarely lock the car doors, and half the time I come back and the doors are locked.
4) My lights if turned on, used to automatically turn off when the ignition key is turned off/removed and automatically come on when I started it again. Now, if I do not manually turn the lights off, even thought they are off because I turned the engine off and removed the key, they will automatically come on and drain the battery. This has happened over 25 times. At home and work people tell me my lights are on, even though the lights were off when I parked the car. When no one notices it the battery gets drained and I need a jump. Again it won't happen if I manually turn the lights off after I park. I figured there must be some short somewhere, but don't know where to begin to look. Any suggestions or previous experiences?
