airbox resonator

peering down at the resonator under the airbox i see what looks like to be a sensor on that lower box.. ACT ( air charge temp)? i see people changing to CAI and such but i never hear mention of what they are doing with that sensor, whatever it is.. anybody shed some light on this?? looking at the k+n typhoon
