I'm getting the dreaded noises from the tires which sound like the brakes pads are getting low (I'm at 42k miles on my 2012 Elantra and am still on the stock pads). I'm pretty sure the noises are coming from the rear wheels so I'm going to tackle those and hope the noises stop.
I'm going to brave up and this being my first car that I've owned myself. Any tips for a first time DIYer like myself? I've only watched as a kid as my Dad changed front brakes on a Corolla, but have never done one hands on before.
One tip I've gotten is that ceramic pads are way better, which I've ordered online (some Wagner ones) and should be here Friday.
I'm going to go invest in a 1.5 ton jack and a pair of stands later today. Should I be getting a torque wrench to reset the tire when I'm done?
I've been watching a few videos, but I'm still nervous trying it. I feel like I'm going to be forgetting things like grease or what not.
