The wife and I did a 5 stop mixed highway day trip this past Saturday.
I used the trip to satisfy my curiosity about the accuracy of the odometer and speedometer on my 2014 vs my Garmin GPS.
Hooked up the Garmin and cleared it, reset Trip B to 0.0.
Trip was driven HWY Black and no cruise, a combination of FLOW THRU, ECON and A/C throughout the day depending on temperature.
According to the Garmin and Speedo, they read the same with a very slight delay(expected) on the Garmin. Maximum speed on the trip 107kph/66.49mph, average speed 72.2kph/44.86mph
Odometer at trip end 414.0 km, Garmin read 425.9 km, so I have a correction factor of *1.028744
Start average L/100km/mpg, 5.4L/100km 43.56 us/52.31 imp, new average at end, 4.9L/100km. 48 us/57.65 imp
With 825.6km on this tank, 425 odo hwy km, a 51/49 hwy/city split, I'm thoroughly impressed.
And to top it off the Mrs tipped her seat back and had a snooze.
