i just purchased a 2011 cert preowned with 27k miles on it.
when i test-drove it, the salesman said something like, "do you hear that noise? thats because the car hasnt been driven so there is rust on the brake pads." this noise sounded like 2 pieces of medal being rubbed up against each other.
anyway, the noise is still there after having driven it ~1k miles. also, when pressing on the brake pedal, i feel the pedal pushing back at me slightly then releasing -- this is actually my biggest concern and its been happening since day 1. before you ask, i didnt say anything to the salesman because: A. he made it sound like it would shortly go away and B. i didnt notice the ladder issue while test driving.
i have a few questions and if you guys could get at me, i would greatly appreciate it:
are my brakes going bad or does this sound like a diff issue?
dont cert preowned cars get all worn parts replaced before selling? i was under the assumption that the 150 point inspection thing is done to find and replace worn parts.
