Best Polish for Our Soft Paint

I'm assuming that most of you all have incredibly soft paint on your cars, just like mine. My black noir pearl Elantra GT develops scratches if it overhears you talking about scratches, basically.

So in my search for the perfect polish to get rid of these and get it back to the factory look (i.e., without hazing), I've landed on Menzerna SF4500. This stuff is legit and amazing.

I've tried Meguiar's Ultimate Compound (which is actually great for deep scratches and swirl marks, but needs a follow-up polish after using it) Meguiar's Ultimate Polish (works fine, but way too many fillers that don't actually correct the scratches) Poorboy's Black Hole (more of a glaze with fillers than a polish), and finally Meguiar's M205, which is the professional version of Ultimate Polish (no fillers, no scent, body shop safe).

The best method I've come up with is to use Ultimate Compound if you have deep scratches, followed by M205 with a final step of using Menzerna SF4500. You can just start with M205 and then move to SF4500 most of the time, since our paints are so soft to begin with. The results are amazing.

Just remember to clay bar beforehand and - most importantly - your car MUST be cool to the touch and not even slightly warm. The softness of the paint is worsened by hot weather, because the clear coat actually gets softer the hotter it gets, and you'll wind up adding more scratches than you take out if you try to polish your car when it's hot. Find a covered area, preferably right after washing your car, and go to work.

Your choice of glaze, sealant, wax etc. is up to you, but take my advice on this. These polishes are what works for our soft paint. I've wasted lots of hours on weekends figuring this stuff out. Hope this helps someone! :) B)

P.S. - All this stuff is easily obtainable from Amazon
