1. This issue arose around 16,000 miles according to my service records.
2. I had the throw-out bearing replaced (supposedly) at 16k.
3. I had the slave cylinder replaced (supposedly) at 30k when the noise continued.
4. I now have 50,700 on the car, and it's still chirping.
The noise is directly from the throw-out fork (the little metal tab sticking out of the transmission) and the slave cylinder push rod. The little metal tab wiggles soooo much that it causes an obnoxious, continuous chirping noise.
The noise only goes away under hard acceleration, or when I rest my foot slightly on the clutch pedal.
SO... if it's not the slave cylinder or the throw-out bearing... what's causing this noise? and how come it seems no other manual accent or veloster owner has this issue?
Every time I bring it to a service tech, they take a long screw driver, and touch the throw-out fork and sure enough, it stops the squeak.
Is there supposed to be a plastic tab between the pushrod and the fork? Is my throw out bearing still crap? Could my clutch or flywheel be warped causing misbalance?
I am not going to bring it back to the dealer until I have a definitive cause... because honestly , it's been making the noise for the past 34000 miles... it's starting to get old... and it's at the point now where if I have to replace the clutch, I don't mind it so much now that it's got over 50k on it.
Any help?
