Thinking about buying a Veracruz

I currently own a 2012 Sonata Hybrid that I enjoy but I'm at the point in my life that I need more cargo space and tbhat is taking precedent over milage. Being a big guy, I don't fit into many SUV's including the Santa Fe (not enough shoulder space) but I do fit confortably in the Veracruz as well as the Mazda CX-9. My budget is around 18-20 thousand and in the Chicago market, that can get you a 2011-2012 Veracruz or a 2010 CX-9 nicely appointed.

Is there anything that I should look out for? What has been your experience with either SUV? Would appreciate what you think about either SUV.
