Annoying Immobiliser

Hi all,

Seem to be having more and more immobiliser problems. More often than not, when I first turn the key, the immobiliser light will not light up and as a result, the car won't start,

It may take several tries of flipping the key and turning the ignition on and off before the car will go. The battery voltage is fine, and I checked it the last time I had an issue, it was reading 12.7v.

Does anyone have any suggestions/fixes? If tearing the thing out is what it needs and that's possible, it's an acceptable solution

AFAIK the ETACS sends a signal to the ECM when the immobliser is activated/deactivated, is this a modulated signal or just a voltage?
