Just picked up a 2013 Santa Fe Sport AWD with 22 miles on it today. Traded in a 2012 Limited.
The sales person said that he felt a lot of vibration in the front end while the car was being prep'd so he asked me to wait while the shop looked at it. A short while later, he said that the car had been sitting on the lot for a year and the changes in temps in NJ etc etc over that long period of time caused a problem with the rotors so the rotors were being cut. When I asked if the vehicle would also have an alignment done, he said yes.
He said that the shop and he test drove the vehicle after the work and they were happy with it.
I drove about 40 miles home and feel a vibration. I can feel it in my right foot on the accelerator, most noticeably when I get above 40 mph or so. (This isn't a "scientific" statement as I just got the vehicle as noted.) I called the salesperson. He said that the rotors need to break in.
Please let me know your thoughts. Could this truly be a rotor issue? Maybe the tires developed a flat spot if the rotor statement isn't true?? Something else? I'll head back to the dealer in a couple of days and they promised me that if I wasn't happy that service would resolve the problem. Just wondering in advance what your thoughts and insight are.
Thank you in advance.
