Hello Everyone ...
Having some issues with my 2006 Accent.
Just dropped a 7K mile engine in (What a treat that was ... And PS if you do it, pull the trans and engine together.) Before dropping the new engine in (after the old one blew I replaced the fuel pump to no avail and decided to drop a new engine) LKQ ebay $550 $225 shipping ... They were awesome BTW if anyone needs an engine or trans. After a few unsuccessful attempts to start I began to explore the fuel lines and pump.
After realizing I wasn't getting any pressure at the rail I decided to test the fuel pump from the circuit in the relay box under the hood.
I let the fuel pump run for about 5 seconds to push gas and it indeed does push fuel when the test circuit is used. After allowing fuel to push for 5 seconds I then disconnect the power lead to the test circuit and the engine will fire up and continue to run until the small amount of gas that was pushed from the test circuit operation is depleted. In fact it runs like Gold...
However whenever I try to start the vehicle without first using the test circuit (priming) it will not start... The only way I can get the engine to fire is when I first use the test circuit to push fuel then disconnect and start...
I have Checked every relay and fuse... I have also removed the Horn Relay under the hood and placed the fuel pump relay in its place and the horn does indeed work (Poor Mans Relay Test) ...
So to recap I can push fuel by bypassing the relay and using the test circuit, and fuel does get to the rail with pressure and the car will start and run until it depletes the fuel from the Circuit. But If I do not use the test circuit and only rely on the normal operation via normal startup I cannot get the engine to fire...
Any help is appreciated.. And thank you in advance.
