I'm hoping this thread catches someone's attention; I don't see a whole lot of autocrossers here but maybe it'll get some of you interested.
I normally autocross in a not quite ESP legal 1991 Camaro, however this year I don't have enough time or space to get my Camaro ESP legal for the SCCA Solo Nationals (tire trailer, lots of 315/35/17 kuhmos...)
Since I planned on going either way; I spent a lot of timing reading the rulebook closely; the Elantra fits in "H" street, which is a street tire class that allows very few modifications. My plans are
- Koni inserts and shocks.
- Progress or PMS rear bar.
-17" OEM wheels with Hankook RS3s.
-Crash bolts to maximize front camber as camber gain on most strut cars is god awful.
I'll update this thread as I progress. I plan on testing it at local events so I can see how the car heats the tires up. Also, I need to get used to driving FWD hard...
