Phoned to book my 12 Santa Fe into Dartmouth,NS dealer for 48k service and to check loud bang and snap noise in rear when hitting a dip in the road. First the dealer said part of the 48K was to change the anti freeze and service the brakes, over $300. I said the owners manual does not suggest antifreeze till 100K or 5 years and brakes were to be checked not serviced so I said no to the antifreeze and brake service. When I arrived to drop the car off, the service writer handed me the form to sign which I did, my mistake for not reading it fully. They put on the service sheet that I refused the 48K service. They did only an oil change and checked the for the noise. When I talked to the service manager after I saw the note, he refused to remove the coment that I declined the 48K service. I told him I did not refuse the 48K service, just the antifreeze and brake service portion which were that dealers recommendation(read money grab). The service manager absolutely refused to change the service record to reflect that I only declined their recommendation for antifreeze change and brake service.
As for the loud bang and snap noise, I am certain something is moving in the rear suspension because I can actually feel the car's rear shift when the snap noise happens. They claim the rubber washers from the aftermarket air bags installed are making the noise, really ? A 4" round piece of rubber inside the coil is making a loud metal on metal bang and a snap that can be felt inside the car. The car was in 3 months ago for the same noise and they blamed the air bags then as well, the bags were installed 3 days before the visit 3 months ago and the noise was there before the bags were installed.
I am very upset with that dealership and will never cross their door again.
PS
Purchased my last four new cars from that dealer and always had service done there. Is this how you treat a long time customer ?
