Release Steering Lock

I have acquired a motor home and plan to tow my 2011 Santa Fe FWD with a tow dolly. When I secure the front wheels on the dolly I need to make sure the steering wheel lock is release before I tow. I know I simply turn the key on but the problem is I don't want to run the battery down. How can I release the steering lock and not drain battery in the Access position or On position????
