MIL ON WITH DTCs P2106 P0638 P1295 P0123-TPS REPL & ECM UPDATE

2010 SanteFe 2.7 V6

Cruising along, and suddenly get MIL P0638, P1295, P2106, P0123 and the ESC light off. Car decelerated in Interstate traffic almost causing a rear-end collision before I could get off the highway. Auto Zone read the codes, but I have a good OBD II scanner as well.

Limped home at 20mph.

Did some searches, and this seems to be a known problem, with a TSB# 09-FL-003-2 being the "fix."

I could only find out that the fix is a new TPS, and the dealer has to (?) reprogram the computer.

One person reported replacing only an O2 sensor and all was well, but this didn't make sense to me.

I'd like to fix it myself, since the car has 105k and is out of warranty. Is this the throttle position sensor on the throttle body, or the one under the gas pedal?

Is the ECM re-program really needed, or is this just to install the latest software version?

Are there any other parts required?

I was curious why a throttle problem would turn the electronic stability program OFF? It seems unrelated.
