My Feedback at 50k miles

My wife and I bought our 2.0T Limited with all the bells-n-whistles (I think) in spring of 2011 at Allen Turner in Pensacola Florida.

We were moving from a 2000 Accord EX V6 with over 210k miles.

We test drove a Mazda 6 and a Honda Accord EX V6 - both 2011.

Overall, we are very happy with the car and would certainly include it in our search if we were doing so again today.

And yes, we made sure we didn't have the dreaded pull prior to delivery.

Warranty work:
- a few TSBs
- seat heater went out

Pros:
  • Excellent mileage. 26-27 in mixed and ~31 on interstate (78mph). This is hand-calculated
  • Very comfortable on long drives.
  • Love the interior... which is why we chose it over the Optima.
  • Great acceleration esp rolling acceleration.
  • Dealership has been pretty good for service.
  • Great back-seat room
  • Good sized trunk
Cons:
  • Dang EWG noise at cold startup. Sounds like a ratted-out Excel. Really want to fix this.
  • Computer mileage consistently 10% high vs hand-calculated
  • Road noise - not sure if it's tires (still on OEM Hankooks) or insulation. Will know when I replace them.
  • Lack of power or any height adjustment on passenger seat. Would love a retrofit if there was one.
  • Because the passenger seat is so low, the sun visor is useless.
  • Trunk floor is very thin and weak. thinking of replacing it with something stiffer - suggestions?
  • Cant seem to find out to lock wife's keys in car while stepping out. Trunk wont lock with them in trunk either.
  • Paint seems soft. Lots of dings and some look like the paint rolls/folks on impact from stones.
  • The ~$300 to update the Nav system. WoW!
I know I have a few more cons but we don't consider them severe enough to really lower our opinion of the car, esp for a first year model.
