Hi all... I wanted to say hello...
I sold my beloved 2003.5 Mazdaspeed Protégé daily driver so I could have room for the Sonata... My best friend has a 2013 and has had it for about a year and he still likes it so I figured I will like mine for a good amount of time...
Initial impressions are the MSP is more fun to drive stock to stock, but of course the SE is MUCH nicer at the moment... I mainly bought the 2.4 so that I could have an automatic daily driver and the non turbo so I would be less tempted to build a 400 hp monster that gets 14 mpg...
I am hoping some chassis bracing will help the car not feel like it is weaving all over the road like a Saturday night drunk. I think the Mazdaspeed suspension spoiled me...
Strut tower brace for front... I think this needs to happen soon... Are there any rear strut tower brace options for inside the trunk or am I going to have to fabricate one???
Under car bracing, not sure what is out there and if I really need/want it...
"Intake" options... considering the K&N with the tube, shield, & cone filter, drop in K&N, or maybe the cheaper eBay tube to get a little more HP, but maybe getting a little more "sound" also without making permanent changes to the car...
Exhaust options... considering just Magnaflows all the way up to a kit... It seems anything built for the 2.0 T will fit, if wrong please speak up...
Sound options, I haven't had a chance to dig into this car yet so not sure what kind of options to add a sub & amp are to the factory set up... likely considering a single 10, pair of 10s, or a single 12 on a decent, but not toooooo powerful amp... I just need to figure out how to make it happen...
Tint, windows need some tint action...
I want to install a set of Wolo 430 horns in there if I can find room and maybe a pair of those obnoxious horns I see on STi's... Hella something or others...
I'm open to any improvements or mods that experienced YF owners have tried too...
Thanks, JJ
