Hey,
So with the new season quickly approaching I thought I'd put this out there to all the locals who are within reasonable driving distance from (the amazing) Calabogie Motorsports Park. If you haven't read my thread about taking the GT out onto a track, check out the link in my signature.
I highly recommend getting the car out on the track at least once this year, and seeing what you / it can do. If for no other reason than to be comfortable with the way the car reacts at speed (turning, braking, acceleration, etc), or just to have a fun day out on a racetrack, you should join me! You don't need to do anything special to the car, other than making sure it's mechanically sound (which is also a great way of making sure it's good for the road, too..)
The MCO (Motorsports Club of Ottawa) has it's school days set, starting in May. Here's the details and a link to their lapping page.
It's a great time, and run by a fantastic group of people. You get one on one instruction as a first-timer, and some grub at lunch -- with an invite to stick around and chat at the end of the day!
I would relish the opportunity to have more GTs out there this year! I know the cars are fun (and I can tell you how to make 'em even more fun), so what's stopping you??

Dates for 2014 lapping and HPDE days are:
Registrations are being readied with some special packages. Lapping is driving laps around a track at whatever speed your car and your skills can handle. For novice drivers the Motorsport Club of Ottawa will pair you up with one of our highly skilled driving instructors. Once you have gained enough experience driving on the track, and you feel confident enough to try it, an instructor can sign off on you driving solo. If you have tried Autocross, then Lapping is the next logical step in your progression towards being a professional race car driver. The speeds are higher and so is the adrenaline rush. Safety is key as you will be on the track with other driving enthusiasts. Only certain sections of the track are designated as passing zones and we use what is called a “point-by” system. Simply put if you see a faster vehicle in your rear view mirror and you are in a designated passing zone stick your hand out the window and point them by. This puts the safety in your hands. You won’t have to worry about faster drivers passing you on the corners. We hope to see you out at one of our many Lapping events. Please check the Events section for updates on Lapping event dates. Car information All cars must pass the Calabogie Motorsports Park sound check of 92 Decibels. Street cars must be roadworthy All convertible cars must be equipped with CASC-OR Solo sprint specification roll over protection. *see below. Safety Equipment Helmets must conform to the following requirements as per solo sprint regulation 2010 1.0.3. For 2013 you must supply your own helmet for the events No other safety apparel is required for street car drivers. No shorts or open toe shoes are permissible either in cars or in the hot pit (grid area). Race car drivers will require proper CASC safety apparel while on track.
