led strip in trunk

Hi, I replaced the stock bulb in the trunk with a led. This made a considerable difference. However I am thinking it could be better.
So I would like to fit a led strip, anyone done this?
Wondering how to get the power supply from the existing "socket" to the led strip and keep the wires hidden
